PIR (Passive Infrared) sensors are commonly used in motion-activated lighting systems. When a PIR sensor detects motion, it sends a signal to the connected light fixture to turn on. This allows the light to only be activated when there is movement in the sensor's detection range, helping to conserve energy and provide security lighting when needed. **
